December 15, 2025 - The Comal Independent School District has hired a Chief Communications Officer. Mrs. Christina Eckert begins working for the district in this role today, Monday, Dec. 15.
With 20 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing and media across public education and broadcast journalism, Eckert is a seasoned leader with extensive knowledge in the communications field.
“I am excited for the opportunity to celebrate students, strengthen community trust and support Comal ISD’s commitment to Growing Greatness,” says Eckert, who most recently served as the director of marketing for Northside ISD, where she led districtwide communications initiatives focused on enrollment growth, community engagement and brand storytelling.
Eckert is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a native of San Antonio. Earlier in her career, she worked as a television anchor and reporter in San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Boston, covering community issues, education and public affairs.
